S.T.E.M. @ Cedarbrae

SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS IN ACTION @ CEDABRAE COLLEGIATE

FIRST ROBOTICS - TEAM 5580 "THE SQUAD"
The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. All Cedarbrae students have the opportunity to become members of FIRST team 5580, the SQUAD!
ENTREPRENEURIAL THINKING WITH MARS
Cedabrae provides authentic educational experiences that mirror the fast paced and multidisciplinary experiences of entrepreneurs in the real world. Through a partnership with the MaRS Discovery District Cedarbrae students experience S.T.E.M. based teaching and learning through the lens on entrepreneurial thinking. Not only are our students equipped with essential S.T.E.M. knowledge they also develop the skills and abilities to put them to use in the workforce.
"GOIT" INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Information Technology is one of the fastest growing fields of employment and Cedabrae students are getting the edge by participating in goIT, a multi-day computer programming, problem solving, and team work based workshop done in partnership with the TATA Consultancy Service Group. Students program actual Android Apps to solve real world problems by working in small teams and putting the most critical STEM skills to use.
